Sosua is a small town located in the eastern part of Puerto Plata about 25 km away and about 10 minutes from the Gregorio Luperón International Airport.
It was inhabited in 1938 by Jewish descendants who left Germany at the height of World War II. After settling here, they introduced the Dairy and Meat Industry, which became known as Sosua products, today Sigma Dominicana.
